EQDC - Emulation of an Ericsson Display Controller

The development objective was a reliable replacement for operator terminals which were used on the Metro control system. Up to this point, special hardware was being used for this purpose; an existing emulation software (Windows) was not working practicably.
The development result (EQDC under Linux) proved to be faultless in operation. This reliability was also shown under quadruple communication speed on the serial control line (this was not supported by the original hardware); this option meant that there was an improvement in both the performance and the reliability of the entire metro control system.
In addition, an event recorder and a program module for the reproduction of logged events at original speed (or proportional to this) were implemented. This meant that the sequences could be reproduced chronologically accurately on a control screen on a separate EQDC system if required.
